Lisa (Pdf)

Lisa is a smart little shoulder bag that can easily transform depending on the strap you choose. Wear it as a shoulder bag, convert it into a handbag, or carry it as a sleek underarm bag.

The design features a 19 cm (7 1/2") metal frame closure and can be made in a wide range of materials: quilting cotton (with interfacing), upholstery fabric, canvas, cork, thin leather (under 2 oz) or thin pleather.

All sample bags were made on domestic sewing machines — no industrial machine required.

Materials & Fabric Requirements

• Exterior fabric: 1/2 yard
• Lining (quilting weight cotton): 1/2 yard
• Light to medium woven interfacing (Vilene H200 or Pellon SF101): 1/2 yard
• Stabilizer for panels (Decovil Light or Pellon Craft-Fuse): 5"
• Bottom stabilizer: 8" Decovil Heavy or thin plastic cutting mat
• 1 zipper: 20 cm (8") #3 or #5 (depending on divider pocket choice)
• 1 metal frame closure 19 cm (7 1/2") (also known as Rozy closure)
• 2 strap anchors or 13 mm (1/2") D-rings
• Chain 110 cm (44") with lobster clasps or 2 tassel caps with lobster clasp 1 cm (3/8")
